Still it's been a good couple of days apart from the dentist this morning (I'll explain later). But this will mostly be about films considering I saw Night at the Museum 2 and S.Darko and Star Trek on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively. So here goes with the main purpose of this post;

Night at the Museum 2: Before I start I'm going to just say how I dislike the Vue in Meadowhall. The reclining seats are great but not if a little child with chav parents sits behind you and puts her feet on the back of your seat meaning you're terrified to recline in case you crush her feet and get a bollocking in the cinema from her parents. Anyway, aside from being pretty pissed off at the seating arrangement, I really, really enjoyed the film. Anyone that knows me will know I'm a huge history geek so this was pretty much my zone. I am a fan of Ben Stiller anyway, especially in Zoolander, but I thought he was hilarious in this. I also thought Owen Wilson and Steve Coogan were once again fantastic. The story was a little dragged out but I did like all the references to history, such as the first black air squadron and the miniature Einstein bobble-heads were, as they say, "WUNDERBAR!". All in all not a bad movie. I did preferr it to the first because it got into the story pretty sharpish, and in my comedy/actio films, I do like them to just get on with the plot rather than faffing around. So not a bad film. It's not hard-hitting but it makes you laugh and that's what you go to see it for. The slapstick humour and innuendo jokes. The only sticking point for me was Amelia Airheart (sp?) because...well she was a waxwork. Ew. I DID LIKE THE JOBROS THOUGH, LIKED THAT A LOT. My sister was not so impressed.

S.Darko: Not much to say on this. The plot was weak as was the acting. As much as I love Jackson Rathbone and Ed Westwick they are not great actors. The girls seemed like bitches, and the only character I really liked was Iraq Jack or Justin Sparrow. James Lafferty did a surprisingly decent job! So it was 'okay' but nothing compared to Donnie Darko and a weak attempt at doing Donnie any justice. Not impressed by it. It's worth a peek just for the lol of the acting, but the plot is thin on the ground.

Star Trek: Ohmystars. Best film I've seen this year, maybe last year too. Everything about this film was amazing. So I'm not really a Star Trek person, or I wasn't before I heard about this film. Not going to lie, it was Chris, Zach and Shatner's fit over not being in it that attracted me. I knew it was going to be good. Anyway I think it's converted me. I loved it. Whether you're a Star Trek fan or not it was easy to follow for anyone with half a brain, and introduced the characters to an audience that might not have been familiar with them. Chris fit into the cocky, determined and endlessly charming boots of James Kirk and I know it's been said before, but Zachary Quinto was made to play Mister Spock. (Or Mister Jimbob Spock as he calls him in a certain interview.) I realised how much Star Trek affected my youth; my mother referencing the Vulcan Nerve Grip and Mind Meld not to mention 'I'M GIVING IT SHE'S GOT CAP'IN' which was said in my younger years a ridiculous amount. Speaking of Scotty I loved Simon Pegg in the film. Also Anton Yelchin was very cute as Chekov and I loved that he studied the original Chekov to get the bad Russian accent just right! Overall I think it's a film you don't have to be a sci-fi obsessive to enjoy. There are lots of jokes, lots of explosions, and the Spock/Uhura love is brought back; FINALLY. Take that Shatner. :] I could probably write a lot more about the film including all my favourite quotes ("I'M A DOCTOR, NOT A PHYSICIST!" to name one) and my complete love for Zachary and Chris's chemistry and bromance. And then my love for Zachary and Chris and how completely adorable they are. Because seriously they are. Zachary hula-hoops and Dad dances. Chris observes onion rings and went to Leeds University for a year. I wish I knew guys like that I really do. My life would instantly be better. But all in all, amazing film. I am praying for a sequel but it does seem quite likely now with the success of this film, so here's to hoping that it will be back with the full cast and some amazing new faces. As long as they don't fuck with the Spock/Uhura I'll be happy.

Films I'm Excited For;

Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes: The trailer for this film is enough to make me love it already. How good does it look, seriously?! RDJ and Rachel McAdams = hot. I love the jokes in it already and finally Jude Law playing a character and having some charm? It's going to be great, I can feel it.

Year One: Because I just love Jack Black and Michael Cera that much, okay?

Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince: Not as excited for this as I could be, probably. But I'm going to see it anyway. I dunno, I've gone off the franchise, I think the waiting has put me off. But it does look good!

Iron Man 2: Don't give a crap if it's not out until next May. It will be amazing. End of discussion.

New York, I Love You: Excited for this too despite the fact I've not looked up much about it and am a little worried it'll ruin Paris Je T'aime for me. Still I'll give it a fair go, it's got some great stars and directors working on it.

I've also rented What Just Happened? so I might try and review that when I've watched it!

On other non-film subjects;

I went to the dentist today and I need five fillings and one seal. The fillings will be green. This is major fail and I hate it. Reason? My love of grazing. I hate eating lots at one time so I tend to graze and that's why I have rotting teeth. White and straight but rotting. Fml. So I need two appointments for anesthetic and filled in joy.

I had the weirdest dreams this week; last night and a few days ago. The first is the most mundane dreamer ever. No seriously, believe me. I was filling the vinegar bottle in our kitchen. What the fuck?! How is that a dream?! And last nigh I dreamt there were a ton of weight-challenged (PC terminology) in my town and they were at a meeting to decide to hold a picket against The Big Man Shop (I kid you not, we have a shop for tall/fat people here called that) because a 'fat tax' was introduced meaning their clothes were more expensive. What is wrong with my mind at night?!

Final of ER tonight. I've only been watching it since Shane West joined cast but I'm going to miss it so much when it's gone. What will I do for Thursday television then, what with My Name is Earl being cancelled and no more ER? Bah humbug.

my life is below average.

so in some vain attempt to do something constructive with my time i'm back to blogging. i've had this blog set up since december and when i looked back at the three posts i managed i sounded like a self-riteous knob so i deleted those and decided to start again. i'm hannah, i'm sixteen, i've left school, i'm studying history politics english literature and religious studies in september. i love paris and london and even my hometown a little even if it is a shithole. i have two pet cats called monty and juno and in august i'll have a third. or my brother will but he lives here and knows i'll take it as my own. expect a lot of blogging about them. they're my life. i have twitter; not an addict but i do kind of love it. and i don't think there's a lot more to me than that if i'm honest.

so it's 4am here, in the dreary drab heights of north england. i'm not asleep because i didn't get up while 6pm yesterday (or today for me) and there's nothing on television apart from last week's bizarre E.R which i've seen twice already. i can hear birds outside and i'm hoping for a sunny day, not sure why yet but it's been a rainy sort of week; rain is the second worst weather for me. not sure why that is, but i just really don't like it. it's only topped by ice which i hate because of my aptitude for falling over and making a complete dick of myself whenever it's frozen outside.

i have plans as it happens (rare for me) which consist of going to the doctors to get a gym referral, possibly checking out the charity shopsand then taking my sister elle to see night at the museum 2. i'm legit excited for that, by the way. i watched the first one again on sunday and reminded myself how much i love it. if i'm not sleepy at the end of this post i may even stick zoolander on in honour of ben stiller. i'm also seeing s. darko on wednesday and then star trek the same day. excited for star trek too much to even go into (but i'll say this: ZACH CHRIS SIMON AHHH) but little sceptical for s.darko mainly because it's fucking with a classic and no offense, he is pretty, but ed westwick and even jackson rathbone to some extent; they're not really breaking the mould in acting ability, are they? don't even get me started on the girls because...ugh, i won't get started on it. but i just feel like i'll want to turn it off half way through, you know? it's kind of an insult they even think it needs a sequel. maybe it's not even that. maybe it's riding on the fact donnie darko was so successful, like they think they can get a buck from doing a sequel. i don't know. it just all seems a little fishy to me. especially getting ed and jackson involved; they're pretty well known with the tweens. do not want tweens ruining donnie darko. it was my first love in film. it made me want to be an actress.

aside from grumbling about cult movie sequels and being overexcited for a) a kid's film b) a nerd's film, i've also been listening to a lot of sixties/seventies music. when i was around twelve the rolling stones and david bowie ranked high on my favourite band radar along with nirvana, green day and U2. not even kidding, those were my favourite bands. but i've got back into the rolling stones recently, and even bowie though my love for him never really went away in the first place. but specifically gimme shelter and play with fire. they give me a lot of muse for some reason. -excuse me, i'm losing concentration for this post because 'it's not easy being green' by kermit the frog just shuffled on iPlayer-

in current musical affairs i like the jobros new song; so shoot me, i don't make any secret of the fact i think they're amazing. not amazingly talented or anything (i'm not an idiot) but they do make catchy, cute music. i also like 'in for the kill' by la roux and 'tiffany blews' by fall out boy; still not heard much of folie a deux though apart from what a catch donnie and i don't care. but as much as i try to not like them, i do like those songs and i have a feeling i'd like the album if i got up off my arse and bought it or rented it from the library. i've not got through take that's yet though; no, i'm not listening to it ironically i just haven't had the time to sit down and listen properly. not a huge fan of the black eyed peas new song though. it's too slow to dance to and the lyrics are pretty sucky; it sounds like the hoedown throwdown to me.

also before i go; http://new.mylifeisaverage.com

new best website ever. my favourite?

                       I've never seen a moose... today was no exception. MLIA.

or;

Today, I received my passport in the mail. I checked the birthdate. Turns out my parents have been celebrating my birthday on the correct day for 16 years.
